On a cold, early morning on January 24th, 1998 in Rockville Centre, New York, a baby was born named Christopher (Chris) Ehrhardt. Chris lived in New York for one and a half years before moving to Florida. First he lived in Coral springs, Florida and then Weston, Florida, where he now resides while he is not at college. As a kid he was in to baseball but as he reached his teen years, he found that basketball was his true passion. The name Birdman, which is Chris’s nickname, came from basketball, which he says if he had to ever change is name that is what it would be. Chris was Vice President of Marine Science Society while in high school and graduated with a cord from the society. He is now a freshman at Florida State University with a major in Psychology. He likes to keep up with basketball while at college; he plays indoor and outdoor to stay active and meet new people. Chris has a great understanding of psychology and really connected with the class. He found it to be interesting and intriguing. So he decided to tie the two things he could was good at and found interesting- sports and psychology. Chris would like to pursue Sports Psychology after his undergrad in hopes to work with teams to help them during their time with sports. He has hopes to help people and make an impact on others lives and when asked if he had to title an autobiography it would be ‘The Life of Me” by Chris Ehrhardt (a.k.a) Birdman.
On a happy July day in Miami Florida, Leah Vargas was born behind 5 older siblings. Though the house may have gotten crazy at times, her family managed to live in the same house for all of her life so far. In preschool she attended Tropical Elementary where she then moved on to Marjorie Stoneman Douglass for years of elementary education. In first grade she got her very first dog, a golden retriever named Koko who they loved dearly. Before starting middle school at Doral Academy her parents sadly divorced and her father moved out. Though it was tough on them all, she made it work, pushed through middle and high school and made it into her dream school Florida State University after graduating high school in the spring of 2016. Even through her parents remarrying and inheriting even more siblings. A step brother and a half brother on her dad's side, born in 2011. And a step brother and sister on her mom's side. All of whom she loves dearly and is happy about having such a big family. Leah loves to keep busy and active which is why choosing exercise science as a major is not shocking. In hopes she will someday become a physical therapist, she studies hard in her classes to meet that goal. However, because she loves traveling she hopes to take some time before "committing to adulthood" to travel the world. She has already been to Canada, Italy, Spain, and many times to the Dominican Republic to visit family. When first meeting her she will seem shy and quiet but when you get to know her she shows her true, outgoing self, Leah Vargas.
On April 14th 1998 in Tampa, Florida, Andy and Trisha's lives were changed forever... Their daughter Lauren Hirsch was born. Lauren grew up in Tampa, spending her entire life in the same childhood home, a home her family still lives in today. A couple of years after Lauren's arrival, was the arrival of her baby sister Rachel, with whom she is extremely close. Lauren grew up in the public school system, where she participated in many different extracurriculars. Through elementary and middle school, Lauren was a girl scout. Once in high school, however, athletics became one of the main focuses in Lauren's life. An avid runner, Lauren participated in both track and cross country, as well as her school's basketball team. Not only was Lauren passionate about sports, but she was also passionate about travel. Her sophomore year of high school, she traveled to Israel, Italy, and France with her family. Her junior year, she travelled to Poland and Lithuania with her Temple youth. Since coming to Florida State, Lauren's love for travel has only continued to grow for she even visited Italy this past spring break. While Lauren was originally deferred from FSU, which was devastating, she was eventually granted admission for the Summer 2016 term. Needless to say, she couldn't be happier with her life here at Florida State. She is currently a member of the sorority Pi Beta Phi, and she couldn't be more proud. She is an active member in her sorority, working with her sisters to better the community and to make a difference on campus. Lauren is currently working towards being a communications and advertising major, and while she struggles with all of the responsibilities that come along with going to college, she remains motivated and determined.
September 3, 1997 all the way out in Las Vegas, Nevada Becca Billman was born. Born into a military family they she only spent two years living in Las Vegas before moving to Colorado, then Pennsylvania, then Virginia, and lastly before staying in Florida. Becca had an extremely active childhood participating in swimming, soccer, dance, gymnastics, and volleyball. She was told that she was too tall for dance and gymnastics so she decided to stick to soccer and volleyball. As a teen, she had to decide if wanted to play soccer or volleyball since their seasons conflicted with each other, she ended up choosing volleyball. On the volleyball team, she was captain of the varsity team during her sophomore year and stayed with it until she graduated. Also during her high school career, Becca was a leader for the S.W.A.T (Students Working Against Tobacco) team. During her senior year, she was dual enrolling at her local community college and graduated with a 3.8 GPA, and with all honors. When she came to Florida State she was obviously a freshman but academically she is a sophomore because of her dual enrollment. After Becca graduates with her undergrad in ICT she wants to work with health care companies by giving them the most advanced science and technology that is available for their patients. Some interesting things about Becca are that she loves the sound of the ocean and gets mistaken for Bethany Hamilton as a celebrity. If she could go back to witness an event she would go back to see when cellphones first came out. The cellphones that were the big bricks that you would carry around, not the smaller more normal ones. Becca agrees with what Jimmy Buffet says, "Breathe in, breathe out, move on" as a good life quote.

Her Mom is from Ecuador and only spoke Spanish when she first came to America, her Dad is from India and only spoke English when he came to America. She has an older sister named Caroline. Francesca’s parents divorced when she was in fifth grade. She lives with her mom and she grew up speaking Spanish as her first language. In High School, Francesca was in Interact Club and Beta Club. She took AP and AICE classes and graduated in the top 5% of her class. She got accepted to FSU, which was her first choice, and was so excited. She now lives with her sister Caroline in an apartment.

By: Lauren Hirsch Monica Ehab Lamie was born on December 23rd, 1997 in Giza, Egypt, although this is not what her birthdate is recorded as on her birth certificate. The workers in the hospital thought it would be a more intriguing to have it recorded as January 1st. As she grew up she developed a love/ hate relationship for heights due to the fact that she lived on the tenth story in a tall and narrow building. Monica’s town was a very unsafe place to be at the time so she always felt safer staying at her Grandparents house, this allowed her to develop a deeper love for them. When Monica turned fourteen her family decided to venture to America with her grandparents and her younger brother George. She would for ever cherish the memories she made growing up in Egypt and at her Catholic International School. When Monica first moved to Tallahassee, Florida she attended Rickards High School as a part of the IB program. She got very involved with writing and ballet dancing at her school. While in high school Monica earned her International Baccalaureate Diploma and was enrolled in the National Honor Society. Moving to America and being thrown into a public high school allowed her the chance to immerse herself in the English language and American culture and now she is thriving. Here at Florida State University she is majoring in International Affairs, which she chose due to her past experiences moving across the world. She enjoys studying languages very much so and believes this skill will help her with her career in the future. Although Monica is very into her academics here at Florida State, she still enjoys her social time with her college friends and keeps in touch with her friends back in Egypt.
By: Monica Lamie Among the lights and the noises of the largest city of New Mexico, Albuquerque, a new light came into the world, a little girl, Sarah Bryant. Her parents had met in Turkey and had fell in love quickly, they also seemed to have fallen in love with traveling and so did Sarah. 8 months after the lovely girl was born, her family has moved to Yokosuka,Japan where they were fortunate to move and explore all over the country. Sarah’s unique appearance as a child made her into a young model, she loved it. “ It was like getting dressed up for fun” she said when I interviewed her, she even found a billboard of herself on a train once, how cool is it! One other thing that she loved, was her little adorable puppy, Boo and she explained that they named him that because he was scared of everything when the family got him. Sarah lived in Japan for 10 but then it was time of the family to move again to Germany. She attended high school there and graduated Ramstein high school. She also loved volunteering at the military hospital on base and this is where she found her passion for nursing. She also loved soccer and wrestling and actively participated in their teams at school. Sarah continued traveling even after graduating high school, she toured several countries in Europe as well as Africa. In the Summer of 2016, she had to move one more time to Jacksonville, Florida which was quite a transition for her. She now attends FSU and she is majoring in nursing. She is passionate about studying biology and anatomy. Sarah lives off campus in an apartment with one roommate and she is still adjusting to participating in more activities and creating more friends here at FSU. Sarah was able to make the best out of every opportunity and every place she has been to and she will continue to do so.

ReplyDeleteTwenty years ago Delaney Watson was born in Orlando Florida to Irish parents. She has never known her parents together because they divorced when she was a baby due to her father’s infidelity. Her parents made an agreement for Delaney to spend one month with her mother and then one week with her father. When she began going to school the court system disallowed this agreement and Delaney began seeing her father only during school breaks. After going to Hawks Rise elementary school she began going to an FSU research school, Florida High. It was in the sixth grade that Delaney discovered her passion for music, which began with the cello. During high school she was chosen to be the conductor in her music class and it was at the moment that she stood on the podium in front of her classmates that she realized that that was exactly what she wanted to do with the rest of her life. After graduating high school she went to UNC Greensborough in order to pursue a degree in music education. During her sophomore year she got a call from her dad in which he informed her that he would no longer be financially supporting her through college due to the fact that he did not approve of her major. Delaney already had the rest of the semester paid for, but without his financial support she would no longer be able to continue her education at UNC. This was a very rough time in Delaney’s life. Not only was she no longer able to study at the school that she loved, but her grandfather had also passed away during this time. To make matters worse her fiancĂ© was on a mission trip and they were only allowed to communicate once a week through email for two hours. Delaney has moved past this rough patch in her life and is currently studying at FSU with hopes of becoming an orchestra teacher one day.
