It should be no less than 250 words and can (and should) contain bits of your first two narratives. Since you've gotten the chance to edit with your peers, there should be few to no grammatical errors.

  1. On April 14th 1998 in Tampa, Florida, Andy and Trisha's lives were changed forever... Their daughter Lauren Hirsch was born. Lauren grew up in Tampa, spending her entire life in the same childhood home, a home her family still lives in today. A couple of years after Lauren's arrival, was the arrival of her baby sister Rachel, with whom she is extremely close. Lauren and her sister only grew closer following the tragic year of 2008. First, their grandfather passed away. Being the first real loss that Lauren had ever been faced with, she really struggled with his passing. Not long after his passing, however, the Hirsch family was thrown yet another curveball... Lauren's mom had been diagnosed with advanced breast cancer. With the weight of his father's passing, and his wife's sickness, her father suffered through a major depression. About a year and a half after being diagnosed, Lauren’s mom went into remission, and has been cancer-free since. Losing her grandfather, and then being confronted with the possibility losing her mom, is something that will stay with Lauren forever. While not many would be able to, she is uniquely able to see the silver lining of this traumatic period of time in her life. She chooses to believe that these struggles have only made her stronger and better prepared for facing the harsh realities of life. Athletics because a sort of cathartic release for Lauren during this trying time, and as such, she participated in both track and cross country, as well as her school's basketball team. Not only was Lauren passionate about sports, but she was also passionate about travel. Throughout her four years of high school, Lauren traveled to Israel, Italy, France, Poland, and Lithuania. While she was originally deferred from FSU, she was eventually granted admission for the Summer 2016 term, something Lauren couldn't be more grateful for. Needless to say, she couldn't be happier with her life here at Florida State, and she remains motivated and determined to make the best of her years here at FSU.

  2. On January 24th, 1998 in Rockville Centre, New York Chris Erhardt was welcomed to this world. Chris and his family lived in New York for about a year and a half before calling Florida their home. The Birdman, which is Chris’s nickname from basketball, is what he would change his name too if ever needed, was welcomed to the Florida State University family during March 2016. He was accepted for spring and decided to come up to Tallahassee early to get a head start on some pre-recs at Tallahassee Community College. While there, he received a phone call from FSU, stating they needed to see him since his transcripts didn’t match his SARR. As he went into his meeting, he was informed that FSU would have to revoke his acceptance, but they did give him options as to how he could get reaccepted. One was to take five more classes and get A’s or B’s or to take the spring semester at TCC and reapply to FSU and get accepted for Fall or Summer 2017. Chris decided to take the five classes knowing he had to get B’s or higher; he only received one B and in the rest of the classes A’s. Chris has a love for sports and is intrigued by psychology, so he is majoring in Psychology and hoping to make an impact on others lives. If you were to ever catch an autobiography of him, look for “The Life of Me” by Chirs Erhardt (a.k.a Birdman).

  3. Francesca was born on February 12 in Wellington, Florida and has a sister named Caroline. She is half Indian, from her father, and half Ecuadorian, from her mother. She lives with her mom and she grew up speaking Spanish as her first language. She later learned to speak English by watching TV shows and through school. When Francesca was in fifth grade, her parents divorced, this was a hard time in her life. Before she started school, she traveled to Ecuador with her Mom to visit family and spent months on end there. When Francesca went to Ecuador for the first time, or at least the first time that she can remember, she cried on the plane because her ears hurt from the air pressure, making the trip start off on a sour note. Arriving in Ecuador, Francesca was greeted by her entire family. Her grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins were all there waiting for their arrival. While she was there, she spent time at her Grandma’s house, visiting her cousins and aunts and uncles that also live there. The view from her Grandma’s house is stunning. On the horizon, green mountains stretch far and wide, reaching towards the bright blue sky. There is a river that flows out behind her Grandma’s house that Francesca played in with her cousins Melanie, Valeria, and Christopher, and with her sister Caroline too. There are lots of animals in Ecuador that are free ranging. There are cows, chickens, roosters, and horses that roam everywhere throughout Ecuador. When Francesca first saw a free-ranging cow, she was terrified of it because she was afraid it would attack her. Francesca enjoyed listening to the sound of the river and the animals in the forests around her Grandma’s house. She describes Ecuador as peaceful and relaxing. This was just one of the many times that Francesca went to Ecuador, but she tries to go and visit her family there whenever she has the chance.

  4. Back on September 3, 1997 Becca Billman was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. She would only be there for two short years before moving to Colorado, then Pennsylvania, then Virginia, and finally Florida. Moving around for her was normal because she was born into a military family and her father would change bases every so often. During the summer of 2013 Becca got a call from her Aunt asking if she would like to go to Italy with them. After short consideration she eagerly accepted and was off to Rome with her "squad" of her Aunt and three cousins. When they arrived at Rome they got to the room they were staying in and unpacked. Before they could go in and take in the sights of the city, they hid all of their important belongings throughout the room since robberies were common in the city. After an enjoyable day in Rome they all came back and wanted to clean up so they could get dinner. Once they reached their room they noticed that the door was jammed, so Becca took a credit card and opened the door that way. One step inside the room and realize that it had been robbed. All of their passports were ripped up on the floor, clothes were stolen, and anything of value was gone. After much frustration they found out the robbers were Gypsies and they had flushed anything of Beccas down the toilet at the police station. This trip had been a terrible one, and the "squad" had no interest in going back to Rome. After that turbulent summer Becca then decided that she would like to attend Florida State University for college. When she came here she was obviously a freshman but academically she was a sophomore because she had dual enrolled in high school. After she pursue her undergrad in ICT, Becca would like to work with health care companies by giving them the most advanced science and technology that is available. Becca agrees with Jimmy Buffet when he says "Breathe in, breathe out, move on."

Monica Ehab Lamie was born on December 23rd, 1997 in Giza, Egypt. Monica’s town was a very unsafe place to be at the time so she always felt safer staying at her Grandparents house. Monica remembers no longer really feeling safe or accepted due to her family being Christian. She vividly recalls not feeling safe walking through the streets. When Monica turned fourteen her family decided to venture to America with her grandparents and her younger brother George. Here they could express their religious beliefs freely without worrying about danger from the violent uprisings in Egypt. She would forever cherish the memories she made growing up in Egypt and at her Catholic International School and bring her knowledge she learned back at home to America. When Monica first moved to Tallahassee, Florida she attended Rickards High School as a part of the IB program. She got very involved with writing and ballet dancing at her school. While in high school Monica earned her International Baccalaureate Diploma and was enrolled in the National Honor Society. Moving to America and being thrown into a public high school allowed her the chance to immerse herself in the English language and American culture and now she is thriving. After speaking to Monica for myself I can say she's mastered the English language and is very informed on global affairs. Here at Florida State University she is majoring in International Affairs, which she chose due to her past experiences moving across the world. She enjoys studying languages very much so and believes this skill will help her with her career in the future. Although Monica is very into her academics here at Florida State, she still enjoys her social time with her college friends and keeps in touch with her friends back in Egypt.

We all like to be comfortable and familiar in our surroundings so moving around and adjusting to different cultures, behaviors, languages and patterns is not an easy task. However, it is a task that Sarah Bryant had gladly succeed in maintaining and welcoming all the new experiences that come along with it. Sarah was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to a young couple who had originally met in Turkey. 8 months after the lovely girl was born, her family has moved to Yokosuka,Japan where they were fortunate to move and explore all over the country. Sarah lived in Japan for 10 but then it was time of the family to move again to Germany. She attended high school there and graduated Ramstein high school. She also loved volunteering at the military hospital on base and this is where she found her passion for nursing. She had some struggles in high school when She was diagnosed with a medical condition and had to miss a lot of school days. However Sarah worked extra hard, retook the class and got great grades in all her other classes as well. The only problem was that by the time, Sarah had finished her class the second time, she had already sent in her applications away to college. Unfortunately, Florida State University, Sarah’s dream college, did not get the updated grades and denied her admission. However, Sarah did not give up, she filed an appeal and in contrast to the little chances these appeals get. Her hard work and persistence thankfully got her admitted to Florida State University, where she continues to strive and pursue her passion for nursing and studying what she loves the most, Biology and Anatomy. Sarah still continues to challenge herself and try to work as hard as she could to make the most out of every opportunity she is given.

  7. On a happy July day in Miami Florida, 1998, Leah Vargas was born behind 4 older siblings. At just 3 years old, she began attending Belen Jesuit Summer Camp, a sports summer camp that she would attend every summer for 7 weeks until she was 15, when she began to work there as a counselor. In preschool, she went to Tropical Elementary, where she then moved on to Marjorie Stoneman Douglas for years of elementary education, kindergarten through 5th grade. Before starting middle school at Doral Academy her parents sadly divorced and her father moved out. To not worry the many young children they had, he parents both agreed on keeping it quiet for a while until they were ready to inform Leah and her siblings. They wanted to make the transition as smooth as possible for their kids, given that they were all ranging from about 9-14 years old. For about a month or two Leah's father was sleeping at her uncle’s house about 30 minutes down the road, while regularly going to visit the family to not make the situation too abrupt. The kids were just told that he would be spending more time outside of the house. Soon enough, though they would all see their father, they began to catch on that he would not be returning to the house permanently. Finally, the parents agreed it was time to let them know what was going on, and though it was sad, Leah knew from almost the beginning that it was happening and that she would have to accept the situation. Luckily there was a fair split in the time the children got to spend with their father and mother and they made it through as many families try to do. Although it was a difficult moment, especially because Leah had always been very attached to her father, she could understand the situation with time. Soon enough, both of her parents began to date other people again, and Leah and her sibling were overall very welcoming with the idea. It was not until in the 7th grade they were both remarried to their new spouses. And with their new spouses came new step siblings for the families to and grow up together with. Something positive that can come from parents splitting is how they can then better themselves with a new acquaintance and families can grow. It may not have been the best time of her life, she certainly gained a lot in the long run. Though it was tough on them all, she made it work. She pushed through middle school and high school and made it into her dream school Florida State University after graduating high school in the spring of 2016 where she is now majoring in Exercise science and hopefully becoming a physical therapist one day.

  8. On June 3, 1998, Madeline Stone was born in the state of Massachusetts at Massachusetts General Hospital. After reaching 2 years old, her family packed up from their small town in Milford and moved to Stratham New Hampshire, where she would begin school. The following year, she began pre-school at a center called Child's Place and eventually kindergarten through 5th grade at Stratham Memorial School. During elementary school, in 2nd grade, Madeline's first dog, Kenpo unfortunately passed away. Though it was a sad time, getting a new dog the following year made things much easier on everyone. In just second grade, she began to play lacrosse, a sport she would continue up until her senior year of high school. Madeline attended Cooperative Middle School and picked up field hockey as a sport, another one she would be playing until her senior year. Maddie has stayed active all her life; besides field hockey and lacrosse, she has also been playing tennis as well as skiing for as long as she can remember. Unfortunately, in 2015, Maddie had woken up one morning feeling lightheaded and was vomiting all day, she had difficulty walking after time kept going and after 2 trips to the emergency room and a CT scan, it was discovered that her appendix was perforated and about to burst momentarily. Maddie was rushed into surgery for the first time to remove it. About 4 hours later she was released from the operating room and brought to her room where she stayed, being observed and checked on, for 3 days. Luckily, the recovery time was not long and the 3 incision scars were fortunately small enough and have faded over time with little to no guessing they were even there. Unfortunately, during this period of recovery, she had missed the semifinal game of her field hockey team. While studying at Exeter High School, she also got another dog as a sister to the one she already owned. She was soon accepted into Florida State University where she planned to attend in the fall. Although she initially wanted to go to USC, she enjoys the warm weather that Florida State offers. She is currently majoring in exercise science with the plans to become a physical therapist in the future. Besides playing sports, Maddie also enjoys traveling. She has been to many places such as the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Turks and Caicos, Canada, and California. She hopes to be able to travel many other locations, especially Greece. Although she considers herself to be quite reserved when first meeting somebody new, she tends to be much more extroverted and comfortable once she is better acquainted with others.

  9. Twenty years ago Delaney Watson was born in Orlando, Florida to Irish parents. After going to Hawks Rise Elementary school she began going to the FSU research school (Florida High) for middle and high school. It was in the sixth grade that Delaney discovered her passion for music, which began with the cello. During high school she was chosen to be the conductor in her music class and it was at the moment that she stood on the podium in front of her classmates that she realized that that was exactly what she wanted to do with the rest of her life. Also during high school Delaney met her current fiancĂ©, Dean Delp. They met when their English teacher paired them together to work on a project and three years and three months later they got engaged. Dean proposed to Delaney after watching her favorite movie, “The Princess Bride.” After graduating high school she went to UNC Greensboro in order to pursue a degree in music education. During her sophomore year she got a call from her Dad in which he informed her that he would no longer be financially supporting her through college due to the fact that he did not approve of her major. Delaney already had the rest of the semester paid for, but without his financial support she would no longer be able to continue her education at UNC. This was a very rough time in Delaney’s life. Not only was she no longer able to study at the school that she loved, but her grandfather had also passed away during this time. To make matters worse, her fiancĂ© was on a mission trip and they were only allowed to communicate once a week through email for two hours. Delaney has moved past this rough patch in her life and is currently studying at FSU with hopes of becoming an orchestra teacher one day.
